Russia may send more military support to Venezuela to help Maduro
Venezuela’s foreign minister has hinted that the Russian military may expand their operations in the troubled nation.
“At present, there is a commission of (Russian) specialists in Venezuela, it could be expanded,” Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza said in Moscow on Monday.
While Russia and Venezuela have been allies for some time, the news of Russian expansion is troubling to the US, who is watching as opposition leader Juan Guaido’s attempts to oust President Nicolas Maduro.
According to ABC News, Moscow and Washington are currently accusing each other of interfering in the country’s power struggle, not unlike the situation in Syria.
