Former USAF drone operator says the US military are worse than “Nazis”
A former Air Force drone operator who left the service to become a peace activist claims that the American military are “worse than the Nazis.”
Montana native Brandon Bryant operated Predator drones for a large portion of his six years in the service, flying his attack and surveillance aircraft from the safety of a container located thousands of miles from the battlefield.
At one point, he claimed he was ordered to drop ordnance on what he believed to be a minor, his superiors “lied” to him and said it was a dog.
“It’s a f***ing dog,” they reportedly said. “Just drop it.”
From roughly 2006 to 2011, his squadron attacked around 1,626 targets.
According to the Daily Mail, Bryant was frequently teased by other Air Force pilots, who called his unit the “Chair Force.”
While Bryant seemed troubled by this, his squadron seemed to be able to take the joke, and referred to themselves as “stick monkeys.”
Bryant was traumatized by his experiences, and has testified before the United Nations, going so far as to even tell the Germans that the USAF are “worse than the Nazis.”
“We think about the Nuremberg Trials,” he said. “All these guys that got convicted during the trials, the one thing that convicted them all was, ‘well I was just doing my job.’”
Bryant initially wanted to be a survival expert when he was discharged from the service, but a head injury caused by a log falling on his head. Since then, he’s been an avid anti-war activist.
